Online shopping has made it easy for start-ups like MyPillow company to market products to a broader section of the population. Let's dive into more information about this company with this review of the MyPillow premium pillows.
You’ve probably been inundated with proposals from marketers as you searched for the perfect pillow. They are all guaranteeing a proper night’s sleep. Sifting through these can be quite a hassle.
However, one pillow, in particular, has caught our attention. The MyPillow company has supposedly made a best-in-class product that has promised to change the game. So of course, we had to do one of our very own MyPillow premium reviews.
Innovation is paramount in every industry and getting a better night’s sleep is no exception. My Pillow Company was founded by Mike Lindell, a sleep enthusiast who got tired with flat pillows flooding the market. He decided to take things into his own hands. Now the company has grown to become one of the most popular pillow brands worldwide.
Lindell has created a coveted brand that has taken the market by storm. Through a combination of research and blended with a touch of creativity.
Before he had the funds to maintain a manufacturing company, Mike ran this as an individual business. The company started sewing and filling pillows for leagues of customers.
Today the company has become massively profitable. They have been collaborating with charitable groups and organizations. Some of this work includes the admirable act of pillow donations during emergencies such as natural disasters.
Indeed the company boasts of a broad spectrum of sleep products, such: as mattresses, sheets, and of course - pillows.
A Review of the MyPillow Premium
The new MyPillow premium pillow is one of the latest products and an upgrade of the classic version. This premium model has a gusseted wall which makes it easy to wash and dry. The company also guarantees that your pillow won’t go flat with proper maintenance.
The cotton casting and foam filling makes it malleable and has a great airflow. Thus making the pillow incredibly breathable during sleep.
Ordering online is a matter of picking the color you would like, and the size you need. There is a wide selection of sizes available, all online.
• Available in many sizes, so you can choose the right fit for you
• Well-designed, attractive product
• Machine washable and malleable for ultimate comfort
• Requires regular plumping
• Filling pieces are noticeable (but lock together)
In my experience (especially reviewing pillows), I have found that a reputable brand doesn’t necessarily hold up to the hype surrounding it.
When penning this MyPillow Premium review, I had to bear in mind that pillows are a very personal item, and the focus should be on matching the pillow with how you sleep.
As the saying goes – “each to their own”, So what works for one may not work for another.
Luckily, this premium MyPillow held up to its claims, which is a good indication of quality.
My pillow premium comes in a standard queen size of 16.6 × 26 inches with a king measuring 16.5 × 32 inches.
The way the casing is put together allows you to spread the filling, and can make the pillow appear slightly larger than it actually is.
Interlocking Foam Filling
I like how the memory foam filling conforms to whatever shape you want it to be in; I was also particularly curious about how the interlocking foam works.
The excellent contouring and support is provided by the interior polyfoam. This wonderful material is even more impressive than memory foam as it has a lighter density. This makes a whole lot of difference when it comes down to sleep.
The 3-piece interlocking structure of the pillow is particularly clever – the various sizes of foam ‘interlock’ when under pressure. And so the smaller pieces fit right into spaces left by the bigger ones.
Sizing Guide and Interactive Chart
The Mypillow premium Company recognizes the one-size fits all approach used by many companies is generally erroneous, as people are characterised by different body sizes.
Because of this, they have created a customized chart tailored to different body shapes, sleep positions, and whether you are a child or adult.
By using this chart, you can tell which color is most suitable for yourself.
Comfort is classified into four different levels, with the softest being white, yellow is a medium density, and blue is the firmest. Therefore, I ordered a couple different fillers to give me an idea of their differences.
The feel of the white pillow is reminiscent of a down and feather. The yellow feels slightly weightier, as it has more fill in it but is softer and slightly thicker. As you go up the chart, the pillow’s fill and firmness increases.
The 4-step gradation is a great touch, and preferable to the 2 and 3 grading levels that most companies offer.
Cotton is known to be the best fabric for airflow. The cotton cover used for by Mypillow premium doesn’t have any distinguishing features aside from branding. It is well constructed with double stitching.
Upon opening, the pillow was flat but plumped up quickly. Loft is defined as the height of a pillow when you put it on a flat surface.
When plumped and allowed to relax, the height of the yellow and white lofts were 6 inches, although I wouldn’t take this as a good indication of the firmness or fill found within. It is really a measure of how easy it is to plump and provide adequate airflow.
When plumped, the pillow will sleep cooler and retain its shape better (this is aided by the 2-inch gusset as well). Gussets are essential for maintaining a thick height, which supports the shoulder and neck.
Machine Washing and Drying
It feels great to know you can wash your pillow in the washing machine, especially when you have little children.
Do be sure that the foam dries properly, otherwise it can break down at a cellular level. Shredded foam pillows like these can take a bit more time to get dry, but once they do so, they plump back up nicely.
Balance the loads with heavier items such as towels or other pillows. The instructions also state that you should avoid dryer balls and fabric softener, as well as using a higher temperature.
It amazed me to find that they had packed an additional pillow as part of a buy-one-get-one free deal – I thought this was wonderful.
Upon opening them up, I found some very flat, lumpy pillows, but upon following the instructions on how to plump them up in a dryer, their whole build changed.
This is something you may want to keep in mind after buying these pillows, as it’s easy to think you may have been conned into buying an inadequate product. Many people have left negative MyPillow Premium reviews because they have not followed the instructions.
After plumping them up, you’ll definitely be happy with how your pillows turn out.
Ordering and Unpacking
After ordering my pillows, expecting both classic and premium, I was notified that they would arrive within forty-eight hours. True to their word, the pillows arrived on the dot.
They were sealed brilliantly, and the box was unidentifiable to any nosy neighbors trying to take a look.
I considered this a plus because I really value privacy, especially when receiving new products.
After plumping them up, I realised I had three versions of the Premium MyPillow. That’s when I got in touch with Customer Service. I had a bit of detective work to do since I didn’t receive the Classic version of the pillow that I ordered along with the Premium pillows.
Customer Service shared with me that the Classic MyPillow is no longer available in their online stores and is only sold by select physical stores.
Their online system of ordering can be quite confusing; many people, including myself, assume that they are purchasing different types of pillows.
I found out that there are customers who have complained about what they have received – this is largely due to the fact that the Classic is available in stores, but not online.
However, there are plenty of discounts and deals to take advantage of online. The other plus point is how on-the-ball their customer service is. They got back to me within 20 minutes, which was very quick indeed!
Trial Experiences: MyPillow Premium
All of MyPillows came out of the drier fat and soft, something that I had not anticipated.
The shredded foam feeling disappears once you begin using it, and it does not become lumpy at all as I had imagined it would.
After a few weeks, it began to get a little flat, so I tossed it back into the dryer and it reformed quickly.
I tend to toss and turn throughout the night, so I managed to get a varied experience when using the pillows.
When sleeping on my front, I used both the yellow and white pillows, and found the yellow pillow more fitting.
I chose this one because less fill seemed best here. It is also great that the pillow doesn’t puff up round your head, the material distributes very evenly.
I had an afternoon nap sleeping on my back using both pillows. Both of them were fantastic and supportive for this purpose, filling the space under my neck well, and cushioning my head without lifting it up too much.
Sleeping on my side (a position I often roll into during the night) I needed more support to align my neck and head. Ideally, I suspect the green pillow would have been perfect for this, although the white was still very good.
All in all, the foams really adapt to the shape around your body in an excellent fashion.
MyPillow Premium Verdict
The MyPillow premium is immensely comfortable, even though I had reservations at first due to the packaging that it came with. The pillow has plenty of qualities that make it easy to like, including being very soft and supportive, and I can imagine it saving plenty of people from backache or spinal pain.
Having four choices to choose from is a brilliant plus, since they can cater to whatever position you may want to sleep in.
I had some great rest with these pillows, and I’m sure many people will agree with my opinion!
In spite of the constant care that is needed to maintain the shape of the pillow, the overall experience is more than rewarding.
The biggest caveat is that those who do not read the instructions will more than likely have a bad experience, which is reflected in the various unfair, negative MyPillow Premium reviews.
What seems to be the case, reflected in the overall ratings, is the confusion on what is actually being purchased, lack of clear directions, and the fact that the classic pillow did not even appear in the list online.
Despite this, they have some of the best customer experience, with a team who give solutions promptly and thoroughly.
Getting a pillow that suits your needs can be a daunting task, and something you would probably rather not labour over.
The MyPillow premium is definitely a great choice with ultimate comfort and plenty of options to suite everyone – there was no way we could refrain from sharing this list of MyPillow premium reviews.
