The stimulants like carbonated beverages, coffee, and alcohol should be avoided. Also, they should not smoke and avoid food items which cannot be digested quickly. Always it is better to eat three important things in the daily meal, and they are starch, protein and a little grease. By taking the foods which are having these elements in ridiculous amount will make the digestion easy and provide essential nutrients to the body.
As the result, the person can enhance the immunity and resistance ability in the body. Similarly, they have to give light workouts to the body through walking and simple stretches. If the elderly people maintain a good health condition by following all these appropriately, ultimately insomnia can be reduced. It will be better if they drink a glass of warm milk before going to sleep. It will prevent hypoglycaemia and provide needed carbohydrate to them so that they can fall asleep faster.
